We have to make some changes to the schedule due to some conflicts but we wanted to make sure we got in our back packing trip and a football game in.

See the updated calendar on the website.  Here’s the deal

• We had to remove the backpacking trip in October. Additionally the west point game in Nov was sold out and we will change that to a day trip on Oct 11 against Rice.
• We added a back packing trip in early November (11/1)

The backpacking trip is technically open to all scouts but keep in mind that there will be some requirements to ensure a successful trip. We plan on hiking with full packs in for 1-3 miles to campsite and then prepare all meals using lightweight methods (no patrol boxes). Other hikes will be run from the site and then a carry out of everything on following day. We will be taking a couple of meetings to prepare for the trip in terms of preparing what to bring, what to eat, etc.

If your son realistically can’t carry a pack with at least 20-40 lbs of weight for an extended hike then this might not be a good trip for him. Everyone will be expected carry shared items. Weather at this time of the year will be rather cool at nights. We will cover specific clothing and gear requirements in the upcoming meetings.

The Football game will be the West Point vs. Rice Owls on Sat 10/11^th @ NOON  – I will need to get numbers of people that want to go so we can purchase tickets – I will have signup sheets  at wed. meeting and/or you can let me know via email.
