Attached is the permission slip for our Gettysburg trip in April. The trip occurs over a 4 day period during our 2nd Spring Break from Friday April 22nd – Monday April 25th. Please have permission slips signed and returned by our meeting on Wednesday March 9th, so we can complete our booking for the trip. As previously indicated, the trip cost is over $125/scout, but the Troop is going to supplement some of the cost so the cost per Scout is only $85! See attached Itinerary – The price includes:
- 3 nights camping
- Bus tour of the battlefield
- Admission to the museum
- Transportation to and from Gettysburg, PA
The last time we had this trip was 4 years ago & it’ll probably be another 4 years before we go again. This is a great trip full of US history, military strategy, politics of the times, exploration, camping and camaraderie. It’s not to be missed. Additionally, younger scouts looking to advance can get achievements signed off for camping, cooking, meal planning, etc.
Participation is expected to be high. We will need drivers and adults on this trip. This is a great trip to spend time with your son!
