Fall Hiking Trip

Hi folks –

We’ve finalized the details of our Fall Hiking Trip. It is to Panther Mt / Great Ledge again. The reason we are going to the same place this fall is that the trip keeps it challenging for the older scouts and helps us gauge the ability of hiking with load for the younger scouts.

Since this is a fairly difficult hike, (3/5 according to CatskillHiker.com) we request that first year scouts that want to attend, a parent come to help lighten the load on their backs. We had a first year scout go last year and had a great time. This is why the boys join Troop 410. The ability to do some adventure trips and backpacking/hiking is our specialty. We don’t trailer camp.

Attached is the permission slip. Please have it returned by the 11/9 meeting. There will also be an important planning session for this trip. Mr. Kabacinski will demo on how to pack your pack and will show items that you should be bringing. This meeting should not be missed for first time adults or any scout planning to attend.

Thank you.
