Upcoming items: Polar Bear / Klondike / Ski Trip

Hi folks –

Just some notes on our upcoming items.

We have our annual Polar Bear swim scheduled for Jan 1st. Some boys have signed up to be early helpers on that day. Thanks for that. We have a few spots left for the early construction crew. Please sign up at this week’s meeting.

We have our Klondike winter camping trip scheduled for Jan 6 – 8 at Baiting Hollow. Theme this year is Disaster Day! Premise: Your patrol has just survived a plane crash in the icy north. You and your patrol must use all of your scout skills, teamwork, knowledge and stamina to survive! Fortunately, your chances of survival has been greatly increased by the items you were able to salvage from the plane wreck and the barren tundra… Looks to be a lot of fun for the scouts.

The permission slip is attached below and is posted to the troop website. Our departure time is open right now. As we get closer, we’ll firm it up. Slips are due by 1/4. Please hand slip and $20 camping fee to Simon Kabacinski at a weekly troop meeting.

I’ve also put together this online form to gauge interest in the Klondike trip. This does not absolve you from the hard copy permission slip, That is still required. It’s just a way for us to gather some information before a trip to see if we have enough scouts, and more importantly, parent volunteers and drivers. Don’t know if we’ll use it long term, but I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m sometimes not aware of a scout’s intentions until the very last minute. Hopefully this will make it a little easier to collect some information in advance of a trip.

Lastly, the following week Jan 13 – 16 we have our annual Family Ski Trip to West / Gore mountains. An email was sent out about the trip. If you have any questions, please reach out to Stephanie Clinton via email psalm91sgc.

Thank you.
