Troop:

We’re starting our planning for the 2017 Whitewater Rafting trip. It’s at the usual place, Whitewater Challengers in White Haven, PA on the Lehigh River. We’ll be meeting/leaving on Friday 5/19 6pm from the church for Saturday rafting. We’ll return on Sunday late morning.

Cost for the trip is $100/Scout & $80/parent. Checks payable to Troop 410.

Parents are encouraged to attend. It’s a great trip. Cost includes rafting, camping fees, weenie roast Friday night. Also breakfast, lunch & dinner on Saturday. We’re not ordering Sunday breakfast as nobody usually sticks around Sunday morning in their zeal to get across the GWB before the traffic starts getting bad. If you wish to eat breakfast on Sunday, it is available at cost.

Plan on eating a light meal Friday before you leave as it’s usually pretty late by the time the scouts setup and get the hot dogs on.

The campsite is run by Whitewater Challengers who also runs the rafting. Bathrooms, hot showers & camp store are also on site.

Wet or splash suits are available for rental at about $20 each – these are recommended – or bring your own if you have. If you do plan on renting wet suits, please do not include the in the check to Troop 410. It is paid on Saturday morning to Whitewater Challengers at their rental booth.

Attached is the permission slip and info packet. All folks rafting need to fill out the release of liability form. Please have all the slips, liability and money to the Troop to Mr. Newton or myself by 5/10 meeting.

One last item. For those of you who have been on the trip before, hat shenanigans are the realm of Mr. Aiello. Please refer any hat questions to him 😉
