Folks,It is important that you read all the info otherwise you may miss a outing you were planning on attending.
The outings/event remaining in March is: St. Patty’s Plunge. We have regular meetings scheduled on March 21, There is a Court of Honor on March 28.
St. Patty’s Plunge – March 18
Reschedule date for Polar Bear swim to benefit the Northport Food Pantry. This is part of the Troop’s commitment to the Scouting for Food initiative. The swim time has been moved up due to the possibility of getting national news coverage from Fox and Friends. We are hoping with the news coverage that this event will be bigger than years past and will really push our donations up this year. Since the swim time is moved up to 9:30 AM Sunday, we’ll need scouts earlier for setup on Saturday morning. Mr. Smith has a list of volunteers. If your scout has volunteered, please bring him down on Saturday morning. They are meeting at 9:30 AM Saturday at Steers Beach to prepare. Additionally, please keep an eye out for a note about what time we’ll be meeting on Sunday. We’ll need folks earlier than normal so that we can do final preparation, setup registration tables, heat the warming tent, build fire, etc…
Pot Luck COH – March 28
Our next Court of Honor is on March 28th. It’s traditional that each family bring a meal or dessert for every one to enjoy. We start at 7 PM for this COH to give everyone some time to eat. We do need parents to coordinate the food and event setup. Buffet table, drink table, cups, plastic ware, etc… Parents, please consider helping with the coordination of this event. I’ve created a sign up sheet for use. We would like one parent to be the point of contact. We’ll make sure that you are able to send emails to the troop to coordinate what every one is bringing. Don’t want to be too heavy on desserts.

If there are first year scouts that would like to attend, we request that they be accompanied by a parent to lighten their load a bit. Or make sure they attend in pairs so that they can share the load.
This trip will be stress the fundamentals of lightweight backpacking and Leave No Trace camping. This trip is weather dependent. We’ll make final decision for reschedule Thursday or Friday before trip.
Please return permission slip along with cash or check made out to BSA Troop 410 for $20 per scout for transportation expenses.
